Help in Suffering welcomes visitors by appointment. To protect our residents and the quality of care they receive, visits are limited and must be pre-booked. Choose from guided tours, school visits, or a half-day Experience HIS program.

Guided Tours & School Groups

Guided Tours (General Public) — Our guided tours are 60 minutes and are led by a trained educator. Tours include a short presentation on HIS’s work, a walk around the multispecies wards, and a safe opportunity to meet some residents. Group size is limited to 12–20 people to minimise stress on the animals. Please donate to help us continue the lifesaving work. School & Educational Visits — We offer structured tours for schools, colleges, and community groups. These tours are designed to be educational and provide a “behind the scenes” look at animal welfare in India.
  • Group Size: Maximum 20 people per slot to minimize noise and stress for the animals.

Half-Day Voluntourism (Experience HIS)

Experience HIS — Half-Day Program (age 18+)
Join our experienced staff for a half-day immersion (4–5 hours) to learn shelter operations and take part in non-clinical tasks such as enrichment, kennel cleaning, and community outreach prep. All participants undergo an orientation and sign a consent/waiver. Places are limited and require advance booking. A suggested donation or program fee helps cover staff supervision and supplies. Proceeds directly support resident care.

Finding the Sanctuary We are located in the peaceful Maharani Farm area of Durgapura, Jaipur.

  • Landmarks: We are a short distance from the Durgapura Railway Station.
  • Parking: Limited street parking is available; we recommend using local rickshaws or taxis if visiting in a large group.

Visitor Guidelines

To keep our animals and visitors safe, we kindly ask that you follow these rules:

  • Check-In First: Please report to the main office upon arrival before entering any animal enclosures.
  • Quiet Please: Many of our animals are recovering from surgery. Please keep voices low and avoid running.
  • No Outside Food: Please do not feed the animals without staff supervision. Many are on strict medical diets.
  • Photography: You are welcome to take photos! However, please turn off your flash, as it can startle the animals.
  • Clothing: Wear comfortable, modest clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dusty or hairy.
