Manveen’s Diary: Caring for the Youngest at HIS

How it began Manveen’s path to HIS started with a heartbreaking incident. While feeding stray dogs in her neighbourhood, one of the pups she cared for met with an accident and suffered severe internal injuries. Despite the best treatment, the little one did not survive. The loss deeply affected her and opened her eyes to the immense suffering animals endure. That day, she resolved to dedicate herself to helping animals in every way possible, providing comfort, care, and love. It was the beginning of her journey as a volunteer at Help in Suffering. A day in my life Manveen works in the foster ward, where her mornings begin with cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing a safe environment for the babies. She feeds the infants, while the staff attends to older pups. Once the little ones are nourished, she selects the healthier ones for playtime outdoors-letting them run, bask in the sun, and enjoy toys before they rest again. For those too fragile to go outside, she provides cuddles and comfort indoors, ensuring they feel safe and loved. A memorable moment One

Anvika , A Journey of Care and Compassion

How it began My journey with HIS started with a rescued kitten in urgent need of care. While searching for help in Jaipur, I came across HIS. From the moment I visited, I was touched by the care every animal received , no matter how small or weak. I realized then that I didn’t just want to bring animals here , I wanted to be part of their healing. A day in my life Most of my time is spent feeding and comforting puppies, kittens, and baby birds. I’ve fostered some at home, providing warmth, food, and safety until they became strong. I also cared for an injured bird whose neck was bent; with daily exercises, she learned to hold her head straight again. Baby squirrels, too, became part of my foster family for a while. Even the smallest progress , a wagging tail or a cheerful chirp , brought immense joy. A memorable moment Releasing animals back into nature is unforgettable. Watching a bird I cared for fly freely or a once-weak puppy run joyfully filled me with pride

Dhwani , From a Single Street Dog to a Lifelong Commitment

How it began Five years ago, I came to HIS looking for a street dog from my area. A friend had told me about HIS rescuing injured animals, and as a parent figure for that pup, I was concerned. Though I couldn’t find him immediately, my visits made me realize that even spending an hour at HIS could help countless animals. A day in my life Over time, I began spending entire days volunteering. As a dog lover, I initially worked mostly with dogs, and at the foster program for smaller animals. Gradually, I experienced the depth of suffering and care needed across all species, volunteering in the run shelter, the catery, and the BLQ. Days would fly by from 9 am to 5 pm, and I barely noticed the hours passing. A memorable moment The first time I persuaded someone to adopt a puppy, Tini, and they promised to care for her for life was unforgettable. Knowing I had helped secure a safe, loving home was immensely rewarding. What I learned At HIS, I learned practical skills like cleaning
